Junior Fleet
The Junior fleet is split into two age groups Cadets (14 and under) and Junior (18 and under). There are several events through the year specifically for junior sailing but the fleet sails in the normal club races most of the time.

Update from Fleet Capt. (Spring 2011)
Hi all, it's time to dust of those boats from the autumn and welcome all of our new fleet members from Leicestershire. The first thing I would like to do this year is to congratulate Sam Ford for winning the Junior championship back in September, and Elliott Hall for winning the Best Cadet trophy this year. Just a quick update on what is going to be happening around the Club for the next few months:
- You could Get yourself off to Trent Valley for the first round of the DYS series, I’m sure that we will be getting a good turn out at the events this year. If you want more information go to www.dysailing.com
- On a Saturday we are running the Novice series. The idea behind this is to improve the skills of any new sailor. There will be a free sail in the morning where you can come down and get back into it for the weekend; and then over lunch a guest speaker will instruct the group in a particular aspect of racing, ranging from getting launched to finishing the race.
- Also we have got a new Friday evening series starting soon, the format is similar to that of the Novice. There will be training for FREE every Friday for a few hours (light permitting). The last week of every month there will be a guest speaker who is an experienced racer, who will provide expert training in every aspect of racing.
- And the Main event, so to speak, is the Sunday racing where you are more than welcome to join in the main sailing series. But don’t worry about making a mistake, it will all be sorted out over lunch and I am sure any of the more experienced sailors will answer any question you have.
