Christmas Cracker Pursuit race 2007

Fog delayed the Christmas Cracker pursuit race this year until a 12:00 when the 14 boats were treated with light but sunny conditions. The toppers and Picos we re first off followed by Miracles, Lasers, Flying Fifteens and last the Contenders. The earlier boats had the better wind for the first part of the race allowing them to build a good lead on the faster boats. However, the Lasers managed to reign in the leading boats and head the fleet with a commanding lead. The Lasers had a close battle throughout the race with a lot of place changing. The Flying Fifteens also had some close racing throughout the race and they pulled in all boats except the Lasers. The Contenders sailed well in conditions unsuited for this craft and the lead Contender pulled through all the Flying Fifteens to finish behind the Lasers.

After the racing the fleet retired to the clubhouse for mulled wine and mince pies with proceeds to be donated to the RNLI.
