Casual sailing can and does take place at these times. In addition casual sailing and informal racing can take place at any time by adherence to the club's "buddy" sailing rule - where two or more similar craft may sail without safety cover. Non members may sail their own dingies/sailboards by purchasing a day sailing ticket from the duty officer on Sundays only.
The Sunday racing calendar runs from February to December with races starting at
11:00AM. There are three races whilst we are in British Summer Time, dropping to two
races outside of BST.
Sunday racing for the year is split into a number of race series, Frostbite, Spring, Summer and Autumn.
The Wedneaday evening racing calendar runs from April to September with a single race
starting at 7:00PM (6:00PM in September).
The club organises training for the general public as well as for club members. RYA qualified club members run the courses and the club is always looking for more members to help out in this activity. Members are actively encouraged to obtain suitable RYA qualifications to strengthen the dedicated pool of trainers the club already has. The types of training available to club members is much wider and more advanced than that of the beginners courses normally offered to the general public.
